On Monday June 8 1998 Nigerians woke up to gossip about the passing of Nigeria’s Head of State late Broad Sani Abacha.His unexpected demise on June 8 1998 shock numerous Nigerians since Nigerian Government deferred the declaration of his passing .
Unfamiliar media stations like the BBC and CNN estimated about the demise of Nigeria’s helmsman saying Nigeria’s Head of state might have passed on.
Be that as it may, Radio Nigeria authoritatively declared the passing of General Abacha around 6 PM before his entombment in Kano the evening of June 8.By then Nigeria doesn’t have various media stations not at all like what is acquired today.

The second in order was the head of General Staff ,Lt.Gen Oladpo Diya who was sentenced in the wake of intending to topple General Abacha around late 1997.
